Who we are

We are a fast-growing, Amsterdam-based renewable energy company committed to energy transition. We harness the power of the sun and wind, and storing energy, contributing to a more sustainable energy system across Europe.

What sets us apart is our deep engineering and energy expertise, combined with flexible capital. We pride ourselves on our operational agility, working at pace to deliver solar, wind and battery storage projects in underserved countries such as Romania, Poland, Croatia, and Italy.

Founded in 2021, we are the European renewable energy arm of DTEK Group.

Where we operate

DRI is headquartered in Amsterdam and has four priority countries it operates in: Croatia, Italy, Poland and Romania.

DRI’s first two projects are now fully operational in Romania, providing 113 MWp of wind and solar power. In addition to this, we have seven projects totalling 891 MWp at various stages of development across Europe.

Sergii Dudar

CFO

Read bio

Sergii has over 18 years of extensive financial experience and is a CFA charter holder. Sergii joined DRI in December 2023, prior to that he spent five years as the Chief Financial Officer of DTEK Energy, Ukraine’s largest power producer.

Before his role at DTEK, Sergii held several prominent financial positions in prestigious organisations such as Danone, GlaxosmithKline and Metivest. He started his career as a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2006.

Sergii holds a Master’s degree in International Economics from Kyiv National Economic University.

Krzysztof Müller

DRI Head of Operations & Interim Country Lead for Poland

Krzysztof brings a wealth of energy experience, having worked in the industry for 25 years. He joined DRI in February 2024 as Head of Operations and Interim Country Lead for Poland.

Prior to joining DRI, Krzysztof was General Manager of Origination & Trading in the Photon Energy,  managing portfolio of offtake contracts in the CEE and capacity market contracts with the Polish system operator.

From 2012 to 2017, he held top positions at PGE Energia Odnawialna, including Director of the Investment Department, Director of Wind Energy and Vice President of the Management Board. During his tenure, he oversaw the construction and operation of wind farms with a total capacity of 530 MW.

Krzysztof has also held senior positions as Head of Key Accounts in RWE Polska, Managing Director of Power Block and Head of Market Poland at Alpiq Energy. He is actively involved in various energy associations and is a founding member of the Polish Chamber of Energy Storage.

Krzysztof holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from UKSW Warsaw and studied economics at the University of Montpellier. He also holds a master’s degree in European Management Economics from the Haute Ecole de Commerce.

Robin Musch

Head of Legal

Robin is an experienced legal professional with extensive expertise in renewable energy projects and joined DRI in September 2023. His career began at Clifford Chance in Amsterdam, where he provided legal advice on both conventional and renewable energy projects. Following a move to Singapore, Robin held key roles including Senior Associate for Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Law at Hogan Lovells, General Counsel for Renewable Energy at the Asia Power Development Platform and most recently as Co-Leader of Yondr APAC.

Robin graduated from Utrecht University with a Master of Laws in International Commercial and Corporate Law.

John Stuart

CEO

Bringing over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, John Stuart was appointed CEO of DRI in March 2022. At DRI, he leads a fast-paced team of experts to achieve DRI’s ambitious goal of installing 5GW in underserved markets across Europe by 2030.

Prior to his leadership role at DRI, John was Managing Director at Low Carbon Investment Management, an investor in large-scale renewable energy projects. John’s distinguished career also includes roles as CEO of the Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund and Head of Portfolio Management at the Green Investment Bank.

John is an alumnus of Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where he completed his MBA in 2003-2004, and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Exeter.

Annebeth Wijtenburg

Head of Communications

Annebeth is a seasoned communications and government affairs professional with experience spanning across four continents. She joined DRI in January 2024, before that she was Head of Communications at the British Embassy in The Hague.

Before working at the Embassy, Annebeth worked as a Strategic Communications Consultant. She led the communications for the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures and worked with large international clients, including various UN bodies, a multilateral development bank, FinTech SMEs, and the British Council.

Annebeth holds a Master in Conflict Resolution & Governance from the University of Amsterdam and a bachelor’s degree in Political History and International Relations from the University of Utrecht.

Renske Ytsma

Head of Origination and Project Development

Renske Ytsma holds a MSc degree in Industrial Engineering from Delft University of Technology. She joined DRI in April 2024 leading the Origination, Development and M&A activity, bringing a wealth of experience in the engineering and development of renewable energy projects. Renske has over 15 years of experience in renewable energy holding key positions for leading European energy companies such as Enel, E.ON and RWE, ranging from strategy, engineering and innovation to operational management and leading development of flagship wind and solar projects. Most recently, she was Director of Offshore Wind Development, Continental Europe at RWE, where she built up the offshore wind activity and teams in new offshore wind markets such a France, Italy, Greece, Spain and Portugal and successfully secured the Dutch government tender of the Hollandse Kust West VII project combining a 760 MW offshore wind farm with innovative solutions for system integration such as H2, Batteries and offshore floating solar PV.

Laura Lazar

Country Lead Romania

Laura joined DRI in October 2023 to lead the company’s expansion efforts in Romania. She brings extensive experience as a portfolio manager in the renewable energy sector, with a proven track record of managing over 521 MW of wind and solar assets. After working for several years as a consultant for EU-funded projects, Laura held various positions at EDP Renewables, culminating in her role as Head of Asset Management for almost 8 years. From 2021 to 2023 she held the position of Head of Energy for Simec & Liberty Steel Central and Southeast Europe.

Laura is a graduate of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, holding both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Environmental Engineering. She furthered her education with a specialisation at the Institute National Des Science Appliquées de Lyon in 2003 and obtained a PhD in Energy Production from Municipal Solid Waste at the Università di Trento. In 2016, Laura completed an executive programme at IE Business School.

Ivan Liakh

Country Lead Croatia

Ivan has over 15 years of extensive experience in the energy sector, including 11 years in renewable energy, with core strengths in M&A, contract negotiation and greenfield development, with a particular focus on managing the construction of large-scale PV and wind farm projects.

Ivan was a member of DRI’s Board of Directors for a year before taking on the role of leading DRI’s expansion in Croatia. Prior to joining DRI, he held various management positions within the DTEK Group, overseeing key projects such as the construction of the company’s first PV project.

Before joining DTEK, Ivan was an associate at renowned international law firm DLA Piper, where he worked on numerous energy projects.

Ivan graduated from the Institute of International Relations in Kyiv and holds an MBA from the Kyiv Mohyla Business School.

Luca Piffer

Country Lead Italy

With nearly two decades of experience in the renewable energy sector across a diverse range of markets, Luca joined DRI in October 2023 as Country Lead for Italy. His expertise lies in global business development, expanding into new markets, and integrating innovative technologies.

Prior to joining DRI, Luca served as a Senior Business Development Director at OX2, where he led strategic initiatives in new markets, energy storage, and green hydrogen development. His career further covers EMEA roles in strategic business development at Canadian Solar and Enerray. From 2009 to 2015, Luca held the position of Country Manager Italy & Business Development Director for LDK Solar.

Luca’s extensive two-decade journey in business development and new market expansion boasts a truly global perspective. His track record of exceeding targets spans across Europe, the Middle East, the United States, and Australia. Luca holds a bachelor’s degree in International Political Science from the Università degli Studi di Padova and a master’s degree from the ISPI School in International Affairs.
