John has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry. Most recently he was Managing Director at Low Carbon Investment Management, which invests in large-scale renewable energy assets driving value through procurement, optimising financing and construction. He has also previously served as CEO of the Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund, and Head of Portfolio Management at the Green Investment Bank.

Bringing over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, John Stuart was appointed CEO of DRI in March 2022. At DRI, he leads a fast-paced team of experts to achieve DRI’s ambitious goal of installing 5GW in underserved markets across Europe by 2030.

Prior to his leadership role at DRI, John was Managing Director at Low Carbon Investment Management, an investor in large-scale renewable energy projects. John’s distinguished career also includes roles as CEO of the Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund and Head of Portfolio Management at the Green Investment Bank.

John is an alumnus of Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where he completed his MBA in 2003-2004, and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Exeter.
