DRI has been nominated in the M&A Deal of the Year category at the Energy Storage Awards 2024, which recognizes excellence and hard work in the European industry, celebrating the pioneering spirit and dedication to positive change it represents.
DRI‘s nomination is for its 133MW 4-hour (532MWh) battery project in Trzebinia, Poland, the first and largest battery storage facility in the country , expected to provide energy capacity to the Polish market for 17 years from 2027.
In July 2024, DRI took the next steps in the project by acquiring 100% of the shares from Columbus Energy. The battery energy storage project is part of DRI’s aim to build up to 1GW of renewable energy and storage capacity in the country by 2030. Through its Trzebinia project, DRI will support Poland’s grid stability and promote wider renewable energy development in the country.
This recognition reflects the expertise and dedication of the DRI team and its partners on this acquisition.
